SEASON 1
S1E5: Real food daily
On a beautiful spring day in Pasadena, I wanted to get some brunch that was healthy and walking distance from my apartment. Real Food Daily was the first place to pop up as I searched for local restaurants and after perusing through the menu, I immediately wanted to discuss shooting an episode of Nutrihunt there.
S1E4: Un Solo Sol
In the words of the owner of Un Solo Sol, Carlos, the simplest way to define his restaurant is unity. The translation of Un Solo Sol is “one sun”, which ties perfectly to Carlos’ vision - to bring all cultures together under one sun through community and healthy food.
S1E3: Powerplant Superfood Cafe
Powerplant Superfood Cafe was one of the first restaurants I researched while compiling my list of potential places to film Nutrihunt episodes at. The restaurant itself is the epitome of a hole in the wall, with their robust vegan menu, smoothie options, and location which immediately caught my eye.
S1e2: Sunnin Lebanese Cafe
During the summer of 2019, I stumbled upon a delicious gem in Santa Monica called Sunnin Lebanese Cafe and was immediately pulled in by their stunning decor. As I walked into the restaurant, I knew Sunnin had a lot of substantial history based upon all the photos lining their walls.
S1e1: Sotta
In 2019, after moving from Chicago back home to California, I discovered this family-owned Mediterranean restaurant called Sotta and thought it was a great place to feature. With just an idea in mind and no tangible content to show him, Mike, the owner of Sotta, took a chance on me and agreed to have his restaurant showcased as the first episode on the pilot season of Nutrihunt.
